High intensity training (HIT) is a form of strength training popularized in the 1970’s by Arthur Jones, founder of Nautilus. The training focuses on performing quality weight training reps to the point of muscular failure. The training focuses less on overall volume (sets) and focuses more on repetitions, the amount of weight, the amount of time the muscle is exposed to tensions in order to maximize muscle fiber recruitment.
